MasterAngler.ai ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") operates the AI-powered fishing guide available at masterangler.ai (the "Service"). This policy describes what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have.

We collect information you provide directly (such as when you create an account, post a catch, save a water, or use chat) and limited information collected automatically when you use the Service. The tables below summarize what we collect.

We use your information to provide the Service (reports, conditions, chat, photo identification, catch stats, and community features); personalize your experience (for example, suggestions based on your saved waters); process payments; respond to support requests; send account and service messages; detect and prevent fraud or abuse; improve the Service; and comply with legal obligations. If we send product updates or offers by email, every email will include a way to unsubscribe.

Your profile (handle, name, photo, and bio), the catches you post, your follows, and your likes are visible to other users of the Service. If you make your account private, your posts are visible only to followers you approve. We ask search engines not to index profiles, posts, and the feed. Content you post may still be seen, saved, or shared by other users, so please post thoughtfully.

Strategy, not spots: we never show catches on a map and never share the precise location of anyone's catch. When you post a catch, you may choose to show the name of the water (for example, a lake or river), or leave it off. We use the map coordinates of the waters you save to provide weather, flows, tides, maps, and nearby places. Phone photos often contain hidden location data; we remove it from photos you upload to the Service.

To generate reports, chat answers, and photo identifications, we send the relevant content (such as your questions, the photos you send for identification, and details about the water) to our AI provider, Anthropic. We do not use your chats or photos to train AI models, and under its commercial terms Anthropic does not use them to train its models. We may review limited content when needed to troubleshoot problems, provide support, or prevent abuse.

Where applicable under data protection laws, we process your information based on: (1) your consent, when you have given it; (2) performance of our contract with you; (3) our legitimate interests in operating and improving the Service; and (4) compliance with legal obligations.

We share information only with service providers that help us run the Service, under contractual safeguards: Anthropic (AI reports, chat, and photo identification), Stripe (payments; we never see or store your full card number), Supabase (database, authentication, and file storage), Vercel (hosting), and Google (sign-in with Google, maps, and place information). Weather, water-flow, and tide services (such as WeatherAPI, USGS, Colorado DWR, and NOAA) receive only a water's location or gauge, not your personal information. Embedded YouTube videos are provided by YouTube. We may disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or users' safety, or in connection with a merger or sale of assets. We do not sell your personal information.

We keep your information while your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we delete your account data from our active systems, except information we must keep to comply with legal obligations (such as billing records), resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements. Copies in backups may remain for a limited time before they are overwritten.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. No method of transmission over the Internet is fully secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You can update your profile and privacy settings in the app, and delete your account at any time from your account settings. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your information, or to restrict or object to processing. To make a request, email privacy@masterangler.ai with the subject line 'Data Request' and we will respond within 30 days.

We use only the cookies and similar technologies needed to run the Service, such as keeping you logged in. We do not currently use analytics or advertising cookies or trackers. Embedded YouTube videos may set their own cookies when played. If we add analytics (for example, Google Analytics), we will update this policy before doing so.

The Service links to or embeds third-party services, such as Google Maps and YouTube. Those services have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their practices.

The Service is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or in the app before they take effect. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
